W-4 Information: Employees complete their W-4 tax withholding information within the myHR system. Two days after the employee’s hire date the employee will receive a notification to their Creighton email via the myHR system. For new hires the subject line will read ‘Action Required: Task Federal and State Tax Withholdings Allocated for ‘Employee Name,’ ‘Number’ Was assigned to you.’ For rehires the subject line will read ‘Action Required: Review Tax Withholding Allocated for ‘Employee Name,’ ‘Number’ Was assigned to you.’ The "W-4 Guide" below can assist you with this process.

The I-9 Form is required to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. All U.S. employers must properly complete Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the United States. Complete section 1 of the I-9 form online (step 2b). Schedule a time (via the Sign-Up Genius link below) to bring your form and acceptable form(s) of ID to HR no later than THREE days after your start date. When you become an employee at Creighton University, you will be assigned a NetID. Your NetID is the account username that goes with your BLUE password. It will consist of three letters and five numbers, and cannot be changed. Your NetID provides access to the majority of Creighton's technology systems, including CUmail, BlueLine, and NEST. You will receive your Net ID and activation instructions to your personal email. In addition, your manager will receive your Net ID information and will forward it to you. You will need to activate at AMI (link below).

Once you have activated your Net ID, you can obtain your Creighton ID card. Your Creighton ID is more than just a card; it is a tool to access many of the services available on campus. From board plans to building access, parking garages to vending machines, your ID card is the key. Due to construction, Card and Parking Services will be temporarily displaced within the Harper Center. Starting April 24, 2023, until mid to late summer, services will be available by appointment only. Please email or call to set up an appointment. If you are in a benefit eligible position and are scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week (1040 hours per year), you are eligible for benefits. Coverage begins the first of the month following your hire date, unless your hire date is the 1st, then coverage would begin that day. Enrollment must be completed within 31 days of your hire date. To enroll, you must go to my.creighton.edu and select the "Employee Benefits" icon. Enrollment should only be completed through the my.creighton.edu portal. Outside of new hire enrollment, unless you experience a family status change, you are locked into your elections until the next open enrollment period, which takes place every fall. It does take a bit of time to get your information loaded to the Employee Benefits system, so you may not be able to enroll on day one of your employment. New hires are added to the benefits system on Mondays and Wednesdays after their hire date. For example, if your hire date is a Monday, you will be added to the Employee Benefits system on Tuesday, and you will be able to enroll in your benefits on Wednesday (after you receive the email from our Employee Benefits system). If you do not receive an email from the Employee Benefits system (ADP) within the first few days of your employment, contact benefits@creighton.edu.

For the Omaha Campus: All Creighton affiliates, including faculty, staff, and students who park a vehicle on property that is owned or leased by Creighton University at any time must display a current parking decal or temporary hangtag issued by Public Safety. Parking permits may be purchased through JayPark. New hires will automatically populate into the JayPark system after day 2 of their employment. Once a new hire is in the JayPark system, they can log in with their Creighton SSO to purchase their permit. The JayPark system will allow new hires to print a temporary permit until their parking permit arrives or is able to be picked up. If a citation is received prior to the temporary permit being printed, please have a supervisor contact Parking Services. Any questions or issues can be forwarded to Parking Services at 402-280-5225 and parking@creighton.edu.

JayPass (Free Public Transportation in Omaha): Creighton University students, faculty and staff can use their Creighton JayCard ID to ride any Metro Transit or ORBT bus in Omaha any time for free. Called JayPass, this is a unique collaboration between Creighton and Metro Transit that lets our students, staff and faculty use the public bus system to get to campus or just move around Omaha. The JayPass is an economical and sustainable option for traveling to and from Creighton’s Omaha campus, and other points in the metro area, plus it saves you the inconvenience of searching for a parking stall on or around campus.
